MOISTURE REGULATINGwith a clay-based coating

The clay-based coating can absorb moisture from indoor air and release it again when the air becomes drier. This can help buffer short-term fluctuations in humidity. This effect relates to the properties of the wallcovering or its clay-based coating.

  1. Water vapour absorption and release

Clay-based wallpaper can absorb significantly more moisture than vinyl wallpaper and release it over a longer period.

  2. Moisture absorption

At high humidity, the clay-based coating absorbs water vapour from indoor air and stores some of the moisture.

  3. Moisture release

When indoor air becomes drier, the clay-based coating releases the moisture it has previously absorbed back into the surrounding air. This can help buffer short-term fluctuations in humidity.
