Belgrade – a city that never stands still. Between history and modernity, concrete and light, chaos and beauty. It was here that the Marburg Wallpaper Factory found its inspiration for the AVANGUARD BELGRADE collection – and turned it into more than just a design project: a competition for visionaries bold enough to think beyond boundaries.
Because this collection was not about simply finding wallpaper motifs – it was about finding stories. Personal perspectives on a city full of contrasts, captured by creative minds who unite architecture, art, and emotion.
From numerous submissions, the jury selected three outstanding winners whose designs not only impressed visually but also captured the very soul of Belgrade.
🥇 @rozla_ – architect, illustrator, researcher. Her work moves between theory and emotion, between line and structure. She masterfully translates urban dynamics into delicate graphic gestures – building a bridge between architecture and art.
🥈 @vid.savic – co-founder of MIVI Studio. His designs oscillate between architecture, visualization, and conceptual art. With a keen sense of spatial effect and composition, he gives wallpaper an almost sculptural quality – minimalist, yet full of depth.
🥉 @monikastiklicastudio – architect, university lecturer, interior design expert. Over 150 projects bear her signature – precise, elegant, authentic. Her design shows how spatial design can tell stories – balancing structure, serenity, and emotion.
The winners of the competition impressively demonstrate the immense potential of creative diversity. Their works are more than patterns – they are interpretations of a city that inspires, provokes, and fascinates.
As part of the project, they also stepped in front of the camera – together with their creations. The result: expressive portraits that reveal the people behind each design – individuals who create with passion, knowledge, and vision.
With the AVANGUARD BELGRADE design competition, the Marburg Wallpaper Factory has created a platform that brings together both young and experienced talents – across disciplines and borders.
